When looking for inspiration for this months article, Origin stumbled across this staggering statistic: 25% of British adults struggle to swim. Upon further thought this statistic isn’t that shocking, many people don’t have access to a swimming pool, public or private and unless you were lucky enough to have swimming lessons at school, when else would you learn?
September, you either love it or you hate it, the kids are back or just starting school, traffic returns to normal, the tan starts to fade and just like that… summer is over. The next few months host the lead up to the most indulgent time of the year and as we prepare ourselves for the chaos ahead, now is as good a time as any to remind you of the health advantages you can get out of your Origin swimming pool.
Just how much does an indoor swimming pool cost? This is often one of the first questions we are asked when speaking to our clients and the truth is, it depends entirely on the size and style of your project, and whether you choose from our range of popular models or are considering a bespoke design.
Struggling to keep afloat of work?
Stress affects all of us, you don’t need to be the busiest person in the world to feel like you’re struggling to get anything done. In honour of Stress Awareness month, healthcare professionals will be giving away advice on how to effectively deal with stress in our everyday lives throughout the whole of April.
From concept to completion – Step 1: Plan
A concept is just that, a concept. For it to actually become real, that’s where we come in. At Origin, we manage everything for you, eliminating the need for you to engage with individual professionals and the first step from moving your concept into reality is planning.
We now all know the effects that swimming can have on our mental and physical health, but what about the effects that our swimming pools can have on the environment? At Origin, we believe that making healthier choices transcends beyond the things that can have immediate influence on our lives, we should be making decisions that will have a positive effect on our future and where better to start than our environmental impact.
As you may have seen on our social media pages, the lead up to May comes with a challenge; swim 22 miles in 12 weeks… that’s the width of the English Channel! This challenge can be made all the more fun by doing it in your own origin pool, whether that’s through getting the family involved in tag team races or setting yourself a personal task to better your time, each length you swim. On top of being able to cover 22 miles at your own pace and in your own time, you’ll also get to feel all the benefits of swimming and could even develop healthy habits that might change your life.
This month, some of the Origin team had the pleasure of attending the 2019 SPATA Award ceremony. Over the past four years we’ve won eleven awards so the pressure was on! Of course, at the start of the ceremony we were nervous as our previous wins were at stake however upon the announcement of the winners we were able to relax and were subsequently thrilled to add a further seven awards to our collection; three silver and four bronze.
It’s no secret, everyone knows that January is the hardest month of the year. You’re exhausted from Christmas, struggling to get a head start on the year ahead and all the while trying to keep your new year resolutions. And if that wasn’t bad enough, we kicked off last week with Blue Monday, what is claimed to be the most depressing day of the year.
