Swim Towards A Healthier Future
As you may have seen on our social media pages, the lead up to May comes with a challenge; swim 22 miles in 12 weeks… that’s the width of the English Channel! This challenge can be made all the more fun by doing it in your own origin pool, whether that’s through getting the family involved in tag team races or setting yourself a personal task to better your time, each length you swim. On top of being able to cover 22 miles at your own pace and in your own time, you’ll also get to feel all the benefits of swimming and could even develop healthy habits that might change your life.
The original swim challenge is in order to raise awareness of Diabetes and help Diabetes UK make a difference for people that are diagnosed every day. The challenge runs from the 22nd of February to the 22nd of May and aims to bring people together to have fun, all the while fighting for a great cause. You can arrange sponsors for each mile you swim and donate to Diabetes UK, approximately 700 people are diagnosed with Diabetes every day and each donation goes towards educating people diagnosed with how to manage their condition and the steps they can take towards a healthier lifestyle.
